minimalistbivy

What do you do when your credit card camping and totally miss your window? I have packed this bivy along with a tarp every time I have been traveling and staying at hotels. The reason being I got a flat, any by the time I was back on the road there was no way I could make it to the hotel. I spent a very cold, damp and uncomfortable night trying to sleep under a tree with nothing but my riding gear on. After that I have packed this and a REI mummy bag just to be safe.

This is a very well made bivy, with REI making two versions, the standard and the long. Again, for those of us over 6 foot tall then long version is the way to go. Add a light weight tarp for those nights when its chucking it down with rain and you will have a dry and warm place to get some sleep (picnic site tables are more comfy than they look). If your a minimalist, then this is again prefect for the price. (yes there are lighter but at a significant cost).

Pros:

Packs small and light.

Condensation is not bad.

Well made.

Cons:

For the price point – None.
